The Old Fort House Museum
The building was constructed in 1772 as a private residence for Patrick Smyth and is one of the oldest frame structures in upstate NY. This building is the focal point of the campus which includes five additional buildings- all of which are open for tours. As the name indicates, the home was built from timbers that were taken from the ruins of the fortifications of Fort Edward. The house was used as headquarters for both British and American Generals in the Revolutionary War. In July, 1783 General George Washington and his party dined at the house on two different occasions.

Guided tour includes:

-an 1853 law office
-The Riverside Schoolhouse, a one room schoolhouse.
